"Baby Mama," Tina Fey and Amy Poehler's comedy about surrogate motherhood, delivered the No. 1 spot at the weekend box office with $18.3 million in ticket sales, according to studio estimates Sunday. The Universal Pictures laugher starring the "Saturday Night Live" duo crawled past Warner Bros.' "Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay," the goofy stoner flick that opened at No. 2 with $14.6 million. Source.
Logan International Airport travelers experienced more than just lines at the gate yesterday as Terminal A was turned into a television studio for a credit card commercial starring Manhattan comic whiz Tina Fey. Fey, toting rolling luggage and looking like your average frequent flier, took a day off from filming “This Side of the Truth” in Lowell to shoot an American Express ad at the airport and, later in the day, at the Boston Convention Center. Later in the afternoon, Academy-award winning director Martin Scorcese acted alongside Fey at the Convention Center for the platinum card shoot, directed by Bryan Buckley. Source.

NY Daily News: If forced to choose a celebrity to play hypothetical surrogate to her hypothetical baby, Tina Fey would bestow the honor on ... beach volleyball star Gabrielle Reece. "You try to think of who's healthy and it's, like, no one," says Fey. "But Gabrielle Reece is athletic and lives in Hawaii. Plus, she's already made some kick-ass babies." Read More.
Cinematical: Last week, at the ever-so-swanky Ritz-Carlton near Central Park, Universal held a press conference for its upcoming feature, Baby Mama, which opens the Tribeca Film Festival tonight. Who participated? None other than stars Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Sigourney Weaver, along with writer-director Mike McCullers. Fey and Poehler were first, and they spoke to reporters together. They met on the Chicago improv circuit fifteen years ago, performing together in a group called Inside Vladimir (named after a gay porn movie, apparently). Read More.
UGO: We had a chance to chat with our Lady Heroes, Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, about their upcoming film Baby Mama. In person, they're as gorgeous, funny and fearless as they seem on the big and small screens - no, we're not intimidated. Read More.
'Baby Mama' Press Conference

Between 2004 and 2006, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler shared the news anchor table at "Saturday Night Live's Weekend Update" and though we've seen them reunited when Fey recently returned to host SNL, Universal's new comedy Baby Mama lets the two comediennes do what they do best, which is make us laugh with their interaction. ComingSoon.net attended the New York press conference for their movie where we learned that their rapport and chemistry on "Weekend Update" was pretty close to what they are like in real life, as the two of them tried to crack each other up as much as they did the room full of journalists. I've added Camilla's beautiful drawing to the Media Room. Thank you Camilla!
The unwritten rule of Hollywood comedies is like that classic admonition given boxers the night before a fight: Women weaken legs. Here the legs are a movie's potential at the box office. Which is why it seems unusual -- if not illegal -- for two females, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, to have the leads in a buddy comedy, "Baby Mama," opening Friday. On a recent Friday morning they were together again -- for breakfast at the St. Regis in midtown Manhattan. For Fey, it was the morning after the wrap party for the writers-strike-truncated season of "30 Rock." Poehler, after the interview, would head over to the actual 30 Rockefeller Plaza for a 12-hour day of "SNL" rehearsals. Read More.

On 30 Rock, the NBC comedy Tina Fey created, writes and produces, she plays Liz Lemon, a competent television producer whose personal life is a catastrophe. In Baby Mama, which opens next Friday, Fey portrays Kate Holbrook, a competent Philadelphia organic food store executive yearning for a baby whose personal life is a catastrophe. The central difference between Liz and Kate is that the latter sports tighter skirts and higher heels. Amy Poehler, Fey's former Saturday Night Live "Weekend Update" deskmate, costars as her working-class surrogate mother from Jersey. So here sits Fey, 37, the woman who in real life has it all: the hit show, the new movie, the husband, the 2-year-old daughter, some Emmys. "Things are going good. My life is not terribly angst-ridden. I have a lot of support," Fey confesses, sitting on a hotel sofa. "And I don't do anything else." Read More.

On NBC’s ‘‘30 Rock,’’ Tina Fey plays a financially independent, single, thirtysomething TV producer at the peak of her profession but surrounded by flawed people, including an eccentric boss. In her new movie, ‘‘Baby Mama’’ (opening April 25), the Chicago-trained comedian plays a financially independent, single, thirtysomething supermarket executive surrounded by flawed people, including an eccentric boss. Does Fey see similarities between her Liz Lemon character from ‘‘30 Rock’’ and Kate Holbrook in ‘‘Baby Mama’’? Read More.
